Job Hunt reflections

My reflections on the past few weeks after I actively started searching for a new job.

1. Very Little empathy and integrity displayed by HRs and Interviewers. Don't expect people to hold up their end of the bargain. They may promise an interview and say things like "we will let you know". But the truth is only a small % of people actually have the empathy and integrity to let you know whether you made it or not. I've had the chance of even getting feedback from interviewers on where to improve and how to attend future interviews from a few individuals (very rare).

2. Be absolutely ruthless:- When you are in the job search phase it is very important to remain strong on your demands and not compromise on the expected CTC. People will try to cut you down and give you a lowball offer citing many reasons. But staying on the course and being relentless and steadfast is necessary.

3. No job is confirmed until you have an offer letter in hand. Do not take your foot off the pedal until you sign on the dotted line confirming your employment. People will tell you not to attend other interviews as they are just "finalising" your offer letter. Don't fall for these assuring words.

4. Learn how to negotiate and bargain. Negotiation is a life skill. It is useful in every area of life. Every day you are in situations where you are unconsciously negotiating at least 100 times. Whether it is with another person or yourself.
